Growing up with seven brothers and sisters wasn't an adventure, but Anita's adventure began when she was elected Miss Sweden in 1950. She didn't win the Miss Universe contest but she got a modeling contract in the US. She quickly got a film contract with 'Howard Hughes' 's RKO that didn't lead anywhere (but Anita herself has said that Hughes wanted to marry her.)
Instead she started making movies with Universal, small roles that more often than not only required her to look beautiful. After f...

"This is a really good set, but it would have been great if they included 'At War with the Army' 'Money from Home' and 'Three Ring Circus'!? This kind of stuff drives me crazy! Please complete the series! The set does have nice DVD transfers as a plus! 1 star deducted for leaving 3 films out! Boo!"
"MAN IN THE VAULT is a mesmerizing tale of conscience. Should our hero William Campbell sell out for money or work to make a living like the rest of us? In the world of film noir that is often an intriguing question and sets the shadowy world of darkness full of things that go bump in the night. This is another underrated classic from the troubled and paranoid 50s.

"Despite an uninteresting cast, the scriptwriter and director make this movie a very inspired effort. I did wonder about Anita Ekberg's role. Her role is rather shallow and ambiguous not to mention confusing. I am a little confounded as to what her character actually had to do with the plot. Bill Campbell, on the other hand, has the great screen impact of a Robert Mitchum or Robert Ryan. Too bad it all didn't work. This film could have been a success.

"Who cares if this movie is going nowhere like some complain. Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra give a lot of laughs and Ursalla Andress and Anita Ekberg are perfect partners for them. The rest of the cast make the movie something different that usual western spoofs. You get two semi-good guys, two bad baddies, and an assortment of others plus a cameo by the Three Stooges. What more can you want. The good guys win in the end, the gals get the guys, and everyone lives happily ever after. It's great. No social message or deep plot, just pure enjoyment for some of us lighter hearted movie buffs."
